2024 Year in Review: Celebrating Creativity and Growth

January 15, 2025

What a year it’s been! As we rewind the tape on 2024, we can’t help but marvel at the creativity, collaboration, and sheer hustle that brought each frame of our projects to life. From the bustling streets of Hanoi to sunny Goa—this year was nothing short of a blockbuster for us.

While the world of video production always keeps us on our toes, 2024 was a year of firsts, surprises, and unforgettable moments. We took on challenges with gusto, turned ambitious ideas into stunning visuals, and had a blast doing it all. Of course, none of this would have been possible without our incredible clients, dedicated team, and partners who believed in our vision. To each of you, we say a heartfelt ‘thank you!’

So, as we roll credits on 2024, let’s take a look back at the highlights, the behind-the-scenes magic, and the moments that made this year one for the books.

Video Production Highlights 2024

In 2024, business travel roared back, and so did our international projects! This year was all about pushing boundaries and raising the bar. We’re proud to say we delivered some of our most ambitious projects yet. From impactful campaigns that brought brands to life to heartfelt documentaries that resonated with audiences, every frame we crafted told a story worth sharing.

“The roles on set and the equipment we use don’t change much, but every country or city has its unique approach to video production. Building connections with like-minded individuals in the industry worldwide is truly the driving force of PPP,” says Senior Producer and all-around problem solver, Krystal Santa Maria.

One standout project this year was our long-form documentary for NBC and VinHomes in Hanoi, Vietnam. The film highlighted the sprawling beauty and dynamic stories of Ocean City. This ambitious production required meticulous planning and seamless execution across borders. From pre-production in Singapore, where our creative and logistical groundwork was laid, to an intense four-day shoot in Vietnam, and finally, post-production back in Singapore, the project showcased the best of what cross-border collaboration can achieve.

“It was exciting to work with an international production company and gain global experience,” shares Ashley Phuong, our business development executive and line producer in Vietnam. “I learned better ways to manage client expectations, coordinate crews, and handle logistics. When the final product went live, I felt a huge sense of pride in being part of the project. It inspired me to bring global practices into Vietnam’s video production industry.”

Another project close to our hearts is our continued partnership with ARISE, an NGO focused on combating modern slavery and human trafficking. Now in its second year, we produced three impactful videos this year, including one for the Sisters’ Anti-Trafficking Awards. Our CEO, Andrew Psarianos, traveled to Goa to film the powerful story of Sister Gracy Rodrigues, a beacon of hope and resilience in her community.

“It’s never easy to produce a story that paints such a bleak picture of trafficking,” says Krystal Santa Maria. “But the Sisters who are part of ARISE are doing amazing work advocating for and empowering survivors to live better lives. This series has been a meaningful journey for us, and it’s a cause PPP will continue to support.”

Other Notable Projects

This year also saw several memorable projects that exemplified our team’s versatility and resilience:

Krystal Santa Maria traveled to Taiwan to produce a case study video for Visa, which brought both unique challenges and rewarding experiences. She had the opportunity to collaborate with a talented local crew and gained valuable insights into how Taiwanese production teams operate. Filming took place in two distinctly different cities—Taipei, a bustling metropolis full of energy, and Taichung, a laid-back city with a slower pace of life.

“Traveling between Taipei and Taichung was such a fascinating experience,” Krystal shared. “The contrast between the cities was striking, and it added a rich texture to the production.”

Another highlight was the project in Hong Kong to manage the shoot for UBS’s 360 Client Experience Lounge. This project came with its own set of challenges, particularly sourcing a motorised remote-control dolly for a 360-degree camera.

“It was incredibly stressful at first,” Krystal admitted. “We faced countless roadblocks and I kept thinking, ‘Why is there no way around this? Am I missing something?’ But just two days before the shoot, the solution clicked. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do—solving seemingly impossible problems is incredibly rewarding.”

Despite the challenges, Krystal found immense satisfaction in delivering for her clients:

“For me, client success means making them feel valued and ensuring their projects are handled with care and attention to detail. This year, clients like NBC, UBS, FST, and SCB stood out. The sense of achievement I felt came from holding myself and the team accountable, fostering collaboration between our team and the clients, and delivering outstanding results together.”

2024 was one of our busiest years yet, with a high volume of projects spanning small, medium, and large-scale productions. The pace intensified during the year-end, with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables coming in rapid succession.

Creative Technologist and Lead Editor, Caleb Rozario, reflected on the challenges of managing the increased workload:

“During the year-end, we relied heavily on teamwork and the support of our freelancers to manage the influx of projects. One particularly demanding task was completing the Affinity Project’s AGM video within 48 hours of filming. It was a testament to the team’s dedication and efficiency.”

Going Beyond Borders

Our achievements this year extended far beyond the final cut. We embraced challenges, explored new markets, and even earned recognition along the way. Most notably, we marked a significant milestone with the opening of our representative office in Vietnam, expanding our footprint across Southeast Asia and beyond.

“It’s a fantastic country, full of opportunities and incredibly creative talent, which we are eager to collaborate with,” said our CEO, Andrew Psarianos. “I strongly believe Vietnam is Asia’s rising star. There are many opportunities for business here, and we look forward to helping companies showcase their stories in this country.”

Currently, Picture Perfect Productions Vietnam operates as a representative office in Hanoi. This structure offers us the flexibility to grow our presence in the Vietnamese market while adapting to its unique demands.

The opening of the Hanoi office was made possible with the support of Enterprise Singapore, which provided grants to SMEs expanding their footprint in Asia. This collaboration underscores the potential for cross-border partnerships to bolster Vietnam’s growing media sector.

By connecting global clients with Vietnam’s immense creative potential, Picture Perfect Productions is helping cultivate the country’s media landscape. As Andrew aptly put it, “There’s fertile soil here, and though it’s a slow process, we’ll see it grow and flourish in the years to come.”

Goals for 2025

Looking ahead, the company aims to grow steadily by expanding its client base while nurturing and developing relationships with existing partners, who are seen as valuable collaborators. “I want to keep developing the relationships we have with our existing clients because they’re very, very good people,” shared Andrew. Vietnam remains a key area of focus for growth, with plans to deepen market presence and explore more opportunities within the country.

Andrew also emphasised the importance of teamwork in achieving these goals: “Everyone does an exceptional job, very professional, very focused, and it just gets on with it—that’s what being the team is about.” With a balance of strengthening current partnerships, pursuing new ventures, and leveraging the team’s dedication and expertise, Picture Perfect Productions is poised for another impactful year.
